The Wyoming Safety Improvement Fund program can help businesses implement health and safety training programs, or assist with the purchase of health and safety equipment. Equipment must be an upgrade or beyond regulatory requirements for the industry or occupation.

Who is eligible to apply?

The Wyoming Safety Improvement Fund is open to Wyoming businesses that are registered and in good standing with Wyoming Workers’ Compensation; registered and in good standing with Unemployment Insurance, if required; and registered and in good standing with the Wyoming Secretary of State Office, if required.

How much funding is available?

Businesses may apply for up to $10,000 from July 1 to June 30 of each year. A 10 percent monetary match is required of the business.

How do I apply?

It’s easy! Just fill out one of the application forms provided below and submit it via regular mail or email to Applications are evaluated on the business’s health and safety needs on a first-come-first-served basis.

How does it work?

Once an application is approved by the review panel, the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services will write a contract and provide payment in one installment. Once the contract has been fully executed and the employer is registered with the State Auditor’s Office, payment will be issued. Invoices and proof of purchase must be provided within ninety (90) days of contract execution.

What about reporting?

Businesses that participate in the Wyoming Safety Improvement Fund will be required to submit reports at 180 days and 365 days after the contract becomes effective and must include: a narrative describing the effectiveness of the funding on health and safety within the business; employment data; injury/fatality data; and receipts for allowed expenses.
