RISK MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Risk Management services are offered through the Department of Workforce Services – Workers’ Compensation. This specialized team provides multiple free services to all Wyoming Workers’ Compensation policyholders in good standing. You may request one of our Risk Management Services using the Risk Management Request form.
RISK MANAGEMENT ANALYSIS (RMA)
A Risk Management Analysis gives the employer ideas on how to be proactive in preventing injuries and methods to reduce costs after an injury has occurred. An RMA will focus on where a company is experiencing injuries and how those injuries will impact the company financially. The Risk Managers will present this information by visiting the employer’s facility, via phone or video conference. During the RMA, the following items are discussed:
- Overview of Risk Management
- Experience Modification Rating (EMR), base rate, and premium rate explanation
- Injury trending specific to the company
- Claims management techniques
- Premium Discount Programs
LOSS RUN REPORTS
Loss run reports are a great claims management tool, as they provide a detailed list of claims for a given time period. You may run a loss run report from the PIERS website or request one by emailing us at BusinessRisk@wyo.gov.

STUDENT LEARNER / STUDENT TRAINING AGREEMENTS
This program allows extra-hazardous employers with Workers’ Compensation coverage to enter into a Student Learner Agreement or Student Training Agreement with a school, student, and the Division. Students will be covered under the employer’s Workers’ Compensation policy while gaining real-world experience and school credit or compensation.
The employer is responsible for filing the agreement with the Division. If any changes or termination of the agreement occur, the employer is responsible for informing and updating the Division.
