To be eligible for the discount programs, the employer must be registered and in good standing with Wyoming Workers’ Compensation and, in some cases, with Unemployment Insurance. It may also be required that the applicant be in good standing with the Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office. The requesting employer must also have at least one (1) employee. Please note that all discounts are applied to the base rate(s), not the Experience Modification Rating (EMR).
SAFETY DISCOUNT PROGRAM
Employers willing to adopt a written health and safety program, with specific requirements, may enroll in the Safety Discount Program. Employers must complete an initial application and submit their written safety program for approval. (View the Health and Safety Program Templates.)
Upon acceptance into the program, employers will be required to complete an annual renewal application.

DRUG & ALCOHOL DISCOUNT PROGRAM
To qualify for the Drug & Alcohol Discount, employers must be doing 100% pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, and 20% random drug testing a year. Employers are also required to provide at least one hour of employee and two hours of supervisor substance abuse training per year, and retain training records.
Upon acceptance into the program, employers will be required to complete an annual renewal application.

DEDUCTIBLE DISCOUNT PROGRAM
With the Deductible Discount Program, an employer may reduce Workers’ Compensation premiums with an agreement to reimburse the Division for all losses up to a specified deductible amount. The deductible would apply to each report of injury claim filed.
Program highlights:
- Deductible amounts per claim range from $1,000 to $100,000
- The Division will require an employer to provide a Surety Bond, Letter of Credit, or a cash deposit guaranteeing payment of losses
- The Division assumes responsibility for all losses in excess of the deductible level
- The Division continues to adjudicate all claims and continues to pay all compensable claims
- The employer reimburses the Division for all costs up to the selected deductible for the life of each claim

WORKPLACE SAFETY CONTRACTS – SAFETY IMPROVEMENT FUND
The Wyoming Safety Improvement Fund program can help businesses implement health and safety training programs or assist with the purchase of health and safety equipment.
Equipment must be an upgrade or exceed OSHA or MSHA standards for the industry or occupation. Businesses may apply for up to $10,000 annually from July 1 to June 30. A 10% monetary match is required of the business.

HEALTH & SAFETY CONSULTATION DISCOUNT
Employers willing to invite and work with a Workers’ Compensation Safety and Risk (WSCR) Safety Specialist, an OSHA Consultant, or an approved third-party consultant to correct workplace hazards may qualify for a discount ranging from 3% to 10%.
