Verify Your Identity with Login.gov

Login.gov is one of two identity verification services you can use for your Wyoming unemployment insurance claim.

You only need to verify your identity with Login.gov OR ID.me — not both.

Important: Start in WYUI

Do not go directly to Login.gov to begin identity verification for your unemployment claim.

Start from WYUI.wyo.gov and select the option to verify with Login.gov. This connects your completed verification to your Wyoming unemployment claim. 

Already Have a Login.gov Account?

You do not need to create a new one.

1. Start from WYUI and select Verify with Login.gov.
2. Select Sign in and enter the email address and password you already use for Login.gov.
3. Complete your usual Login.gov security step.
4. Follow the instructions Login.gov provides. Depending on your account and previous identity verification, Login.gov may ask you to complete additional steps.
5. Review the information Login.gov will share with Wyoming Unemployment Insurance and follow the prompts to continue.
6. Continue until Login.gov confirms that your identity verification was submitted and shared with the Wyoming Unemployment Insurance Division.

Login.gov will not automatically return you to WYUI when you are finished.

New to Login.gov?

If you don’t already have a Login.gov account, you can create one as part of the identity verification process.

Before You Begin

Have the following available:

• An email address you can access
• A way to complete Login.gov’s account security process
• Your Social Security number
• An accepted photo ID, such as a U.S. driver’s license or state-issued ID, U.S. passport book or U.S. passport card

Login.gov will guide you through the available options throughout the process.

Step 1: Create Your Login.gov Account

1. Select Create an account.
2. Enter your email address.
3. Check your email for a message from Login.gov and select the link to confirm your email address.
4. Create a Login.gov password.
5. Choose an authentication method and follow the instructions to secure your account.

Step 2: Connect to Wyoming Unemployment Insurance

When Login.gov asks you to continue to your state’s unemployment insurance agency, select Agree and continue.

This allows you to continue with identity verification for your Wyoming unemployment claim.

Step 3: Verify Your Identity

Login.gov will guide you through the identity verification process.

Depending on the method you choose, you may be asked to:

• Provide photos of an accepted photo ID
• Take a selfie
• Enter your Social Security number
• Review and confirm your personal information
• Complete additional steps to verify your information

Follow the instructions you see on the screen. Not everyone will necessarily see the same steps.

Step 4: Complete Your Login.gov Verification

Continue following the instructions from Login.gov.

You may be asked to re-enter your Login.gov password and may receive a personal key. If you receive a personal key, save it somewhere safe.

Before you finish, review the information Login.gov will share with Wyoming Unemployment Insurance and follow the prompts to continue.

How Do I Know I’m Finished?

You are finished when Login.gov displays the Next steps for Unemployment Claim Identity Verification page and confirms that your identity verification was submitted and shared with the Wyoming Unemployment Insurance Division.

Login.gov will not automatically return you to WYUI. You do not need to wait for it to redirect you.

You can log back in to WYUI to check your identity verification status. Once successfully completed, WYUI will show that your identity was verified with Login.gov.
