If you lost your job through no fault of your own you may be eligible for Wyoming Unemployment Insurance (UI). These benefits help replace lost wages and are funded entirely by employer contributions to the unemployment insurance trust fund.
To determine eligibility you’ll need to register on the Wyoming Unemployment Insurance (WYUI portal). If you’re a first-time user, please read the Claimant Registration Guide.
Once registered for WYUI, you’ll need to file weekly claims online can be a smooth process if you follow these steps:
- Gather Your Information: Have your Social Security Number, Username, and Password ready.
- Work Details: If you worked during the week, be prepared to provide your hours worked (rounded down to the nearest hour) and your gross earnings (rounded down to the nearest dollar). You must provide this information to complete your claim, as your reported wages will be verified with your employer.
- Other Income: If you received holiday pay, vacation pay, severance pay, or self-employment income, make sure you know the gross or net amounts, rounded down to the nearest dollar.
- Filing Your Claim: The online system will identify the weeks you’re eligible to file for and guide you through a series of questions. Answer all questions for each week you’re filing for. Depending on your responses, you may be asked additional questions. Click the question mark icon to access instructions, definitions and more.
- Review and Save: Once your claim is complete, you’ll see a summary of your answers. Print this screen for your records. All your responses will be saved in your account.
By following these steps, you’ll ensure that your claim is filed accurately and efficiently.
To receive benefits after your first week, you’ll need to submit a continued claim. Each claim week ends on a Saturday, and to stay on track, you must wait until the week has ended before filing.
