On September 11, The United States Department of Labor informed the Department of Workforce Services that the Wyoming Insured Unemployment Rate for the week ending August 15, 2020, fell below the threshold needed to continue the Extended Benefits (EB) program. As a result, the EB payable period will end on September 19, 2020, which is the conclusion of the mandatory 13 weeks. EB cannot be paid to any claimant for weeks of unemployment after September 19, 2020, regardless of any remaining balance of EB entitlement.

For example, if a claimant received their first EB payment for the week ending September 5, the remaining payable weeks would be September 12 and September 19. Because the program ends, the claimant is only eligible for EB for three weeks.

Those who were receiving EB may be eligible for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA). Claimants may apply for PUA through WYUI.wyo.gov.
