
The W.E. Hire Vets program celebrates Wyoming businesses that hire and retain veterans. It’s our way of recognizing employers who value the skills, dedication, and experience veterans bring to the workplace.
Who Can Participate
All legally operating businesses in Wyoming that hire or continue to employ a veteran in any given year are eligible. Businesses can apply every year they hire or employ a veteran.
How It Works
- Have a veteran employee on your team.
- Fill out the DWS online application form.
- DWS may verify your information.
- If approved, you’ll receive a window sticker and a digital recognition package.
Businesses with multiple locations can request a window sticker for each site where a veteran works. For example, if a restaurant has two locations and the same veteran works at both, each location can display a sticker.
The program includes:
- A large window sticker featuring the W.E. Hire Vets logo.
- Annual smaller stickers to add each year you hire a veteran, which can be placed next to or below the main sticker.
Annual Employer Awards
DWS recognizes businesses going above and beyond in hiring veterans. Awards include:
- Small, medium, and large business awards (aligned with the federal HIRE Vets Medallion gold award criteria).
- Recognition for employers making extra efforts to hire and accommodate military spouses or active-duty service members.
All registered businesses will receive application and qualification information each year, but any employer can apply. A review team—including both DWS staff and external experts—will select award winners.
