Work-Based Learning Experiences (WBLE)
Bright Futures isn’t just about classroom learning – it’s about real-world experiences! With our Work-Based Learning Experiences (WBLE), you can get paid to work at actual job sites and develop skills you can use in the future. Whether you’re shadowing professionals, talking to mentors, or starting an internship, you’ll learn what different jobs are really like. And the best part? You get to try out jobs to see what you enjoy the most!
Skills for Work, Skills for Life
Success starts with the right skills! Bright Futures offers online and in-person training to help you learn the skills you need for your dream job and to be more independent. Here’s what you can learn:
- Money Management: Learn how to handle your paycheck, save money, and pay bills.
- Job Training: Gain specific skills or certifications for the jobs you want.
- Computer Skills: Get comfortable with computers, smartphones, and the internet.
- Social Skills: Discover how to communicate, work in a team, and build respect.
- Resume Writing: Never written a resume? We’ll help you create your first one!
- Self-Advocacy: Learn how to speak up for yourself and ask for what you need.
Help Others and Grow as a Leader
Want to make a difference and become a leader? As a Peer Mentor, you’ll welcome new students, answer their questions, and help them succeed in Bright Futures. Plus, you’ll join our Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) and get extra training to build your leadership skills. Each summer, you can attend the Summer Leadership Fair in Cheyenne, where you’ll play games, learn new things, and meet other youth leaders. Want to be a Peer Mentor?
