At Pathways to Progress, we believe it takes a community to help every child thrive. Our program brings together a network of dedicated partners—from local businesses to vocational rehabilitation counselors, mental health providers, and educators—to create a supportive environment for your child’s journey into adulthood. Discover how our collaborative approach ensures your child gets the resources and opportunities they need to succeed and how you can play an active role in this partnership.

Bringing Program Partners Together

Collaboration is at the heart of Pathways to Progress. Our Navigators work closely with a range of community partners to provide comprehensive support for your child. Here’s a look at the key organizations we work with:

  • Wyoming Division of Vocational Rehabilitation:
Our Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (VRCs) provide career counseling, facilitate accommodations, and connect your child with services tailored to their needs.
  • Wyoming Centers for Independent Living (CILs):
CILs provide life skills training that includes self-awareness, self-advocacy, communication, and independence. These training sessions are available both online and in person.
  • Mental Health Services:
Participating school districts have dedicated mental health resources that offer counseling and support, focusing on coping skills and self-determination for all students.
  • Employment Providers:
We partner with local businesses to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences. Students can benefit from class visits, guest speakers, job shadowing, internships, and more.
  • Technology Supports:
We assess each student’s technology needs. When necessary, we work with the Wyoming Division of Vocational Rehabilitation to help provide devices and internet access to ensure every student is equipped for success.
  • Education Partners:
Local education agencies (LEAs) and the Wyoming Department of Education work with us to provide training and connect services that align with each student’s strengths and goals.

Meet Our Core Partners and Navigators

  • Core Partners:
Our core partners include local school districts, the Wyoming Department of Education, and Centers for Independent Living (CILs) on both the eastern and western sides of the state. These organizations provide essential services, from independent living training to classroom support and technological assistance.
  • Navigators:
Our Navigators are here to help guide you and your child through the program, from enrollment to building connections in the community. They assist with job placements, host events like the “Dress-to-Succeed” workshop, and provide advocacy to ensure every student receives the support they need.

State and Local Transition Councils

Pathways to Progress is guided by local and state-level councils. Each district has its own Local Transition Council, composed of parents, students, employers, teachers, mental health providers, and others who are committed to making a difference. These councils work together at the state level to provide recommendations and move the program forward, ensuring every community’s needs are met.
