PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Chairman of the Unemployment Insurance
Commission has called a special meeting to consider the amendment of emergency rules under
the authority granted by W.S. § 27-3-602(a)(i) that will affect the Rules and Regulations of the
Wyoming Unemployment Insurance Division. These amendments are being considered in
response to federal requirements of the Unemployment Insurance Division in responding to the
COVID-19 public health emergency, in order to satisfy the requirements of the Family First
Coronavirus Response Act (Pub. L. 116-127), and to maintain and strengthen access to the
unemployment compensation system for claimants impacted by the COVID-19 public health
emergency.
The Commission proposes to amend the rules in Chapter 37. The following amendments are
being considered:
Section 2 is being amended to clarify that certain eligibility requirements of W.S. §27-3-
306 are being relaxed by regulation only for those claimants for whom suitable work is not
available.
Section 3 is being amended to clarify that employers must provide individual notice to
employees at the time of separation about the potential availability of unemployment
benefits, and to specify the acceptable methods to provide such notice.
In order to maintain the most recent public health recommendations while complying with the
requirements of public meetings held via electronic means under W.S. 16-4-403(d) the meeting
