The Department of Workforce Services is promulgating Chapter 10 of Workers’ Compensation rules regarding Miscellaneous Medical Protocols, and now seeks public comment on the proposed rules.
The proposed changes to Chapter 10 include a new Section, 33, which limits preauthorization or reimbursement for surgical procedures to those performed by board-certified surgeons or licensed physicians eligible for board certification as surgeons by virtue of education or training.
Further updates include new URL’s to the most up-to-date information, and updating the many terms used to refer to the injured worker to be more consistent throughout the chapter. More information on the proposed changes to Chapter 10 is available in the Statement of Reasons.
