Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS)

In 2014, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) was introduced, bringing big changes to help students with disabilities prepare for the world of work. One of these changes is Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS)—designed to give students real tools and experiences for a successful transition from school to work or further education.

Here’s what Pre-ETS can include:

  • Job Exploration Counseling: Discover careers that fit your interests and strengths.
  • Work-Based Learning Experiences: Gain hands-on experience in real jobs.
  • Postsecondary Education Counseling: Learn about college or other training options.
  • Workplace Readiness Training: Build skills employers look for, like teamwork and time management.
  • Self-Advocacy Instruction: Learn to speak up for your needs and goals.

Disability Determination Services

Disability Benefits in Wyoming
Wyoming’s DDS decides who qualifies for Social Security disability benefits. The SSA runs two programs: SSDI, for people who’ve worked and paid Social Security taxes (some family members may qualify too), and SSI, for people who need financial help. Both require a qualifying disability.

Vocational Rehabilitation Technology

We provide tools and services to help people with disabilities overcome barriers in work, school, home, and daily life. This includes assistive devices like wheelchairs, hearing aids, and low-vision tools, as well as support for transportation, home or vehicle modifications, and more.
