Workers’ Memorial Day is a day to remember the workers who have lost their lives on the job. The best way to honor those we have lost is by working safely to prevent future tragedies.

Let’s all pledge to work safely, so we can all go home each and every day.

  • A total of 5,250 workers died from a work-related injury in the U.S. in 2018 (the most recent year on record), up 2 percent from the 2017 total of 5,147.
  • Wyoming experiences an average of 30 occupational injury deaths per year, the equivalent of one worker death every 12 days.
  • In 2018, 31 workers were fatally injured on the job in Wyoming.
  • Since 2008, at least 334 workers have been fatally injured on the job in Wyoming.
  • These numbers do not reflect deaths from occupational illnesses, a noteworthy omission while the nation experiences an infectious disease pandemic.
