The purpose of the Contractor Certified Person exam is to certify experienced employees of contractor companies, working at coal mines in the State of Wyoming, to conduct pre-shift examinations of their workplaces for hazardous conditions. This is NOT a mine foreman or mine examiner certification. This certification is company-specific and invalid in conjunction with any other employer.
Application requirements:
- Applicants must have at least (2) two years of experience in the type of work the company is contracted to do.
- Applicant must submit for approval a completed application detailing applicable work experience to the State Mine Inspector’s Office.
- The Company must have a test set up with the State Mine Inspector’s Office. This includes the submission and approval of 25 multiple choice questions specific to the safe work practices of the Company and the work it performs.
There is no application fee for the Contractor Certified Person Exam. Your company representative will be notified of your application approval and all exams will be scheduled through the Rock Springs office at (307) 362-5222.
