PUBLIC NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE CONSTRUCTION (1926)
RULES OF WYOMING OSHA DIVISION
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Wyoming OSHA Commission is
proposing to add website hyperlinks to all chapters linking to the Federal OSHA website
for each chapter and update the effective date from June 8, 2016, to June 19, 2018. Other
changes include minor formatting and changing six (6) titles of the chapters (noted
below) to match the Federal OSHA titles.
The 27 chapters for OSHA 1926 – Construction are as follows:
Chapter 1 General (A)
Chapter 2 Adoption and Extension of Established Rules and Regulations (B) – title
change to General Interpretations
Chapter 3 General Safety and Health (C)
Chapter 4 Occupational Health and Environmental Controls (D)
Chapter 5 Personal Protective and Life Saving Equipment (E)
Chapter 6 Fire Protection and Prevention (F)
Chapter 7 Signs, Signals, and Barricades (G)
Chapter 8 Materials Handling, Storage, Use and Disposal (H)
Chapter 9 Tools-Hand and Power (I)
Chapter 10 Welding and Cutting (J)
Chapter 11 Electrical (K)
Chapter 12 Scaffolds (L)
Chapter 13 Fall Protection (M)
Chapter 14 Helicopters, Hoists, Elevators and Conveyors (N)
Chapter 15 Motorized Vehicles, Mechanized Equipment and Marine Operations (O) –
title change to Motor Vehicles, Mechanized Equipment and Marine Operations
Chapter 16 Excavations, Trenching and Shoring (P) – title change to Excavations

It should be noted there are five (5) chapters of OSHA 1926 – Construction where the
federal OSHA has “reserved” sections for future use for adding rules. These chapters
are: Chapter 3, Section 1, 29 C.F.R. § 1926.22; Chapter 5, Section 1, 29 C.F.R. §§
1926.98 and 1926.107; Chapter 11, Section 1, 29 C.F.R. §§ 1926.401; and 1926.409
through 1926.415, 1926.418 through 1926.430, 1926.433 through 1926.440, and
1926.442 through 1926.448; Chapter 24, Section 1, 29 C.F.R. §§1926.1054 through
1926.1059; and, Chapter 26, Section 1, 29 C.F.R. §§ 1926.1100 and 1926.1105.
