The Employment Tax Division is responsible for the Audit and Compliance functions of both the Unemployment Insurance and Workers’ Compensation programs.
The U.S.Department of Labor requires each audit meet minimum standards set forth in their Tax Performance System, and has implemented Effective Audit Measures to evaluate state audit programs, including elements of worker misclassification detection and enforcement.
The division communicates with employers regarding legal requirements and obligations under tax and premium collection provisions, and benefit provisions.
