CHEYENNE – The Department of Workforce Services has opened the application window for the WyHealthTrain Grant. The grant is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act.

Wyoming residents newly enrolling in a healthcare career pathway through a Wyoming community college or the University of Wyoming for the Fall 2024 semester may be eligible for up to $10,000 toward completing a qualified healthcare program within a two-year timeframe. Interested applicants must also meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Became unemployed or underemployed during, or as a result of, the pandemic (March 13, 2020 – May 11, 2023), OR…
  • Household income is at or below 300% of the federal poverty guidelines.

“The WyHealthTrain Grant presents a remarkable opportunity for Wyoming residents to pursue rewarding careers in the healthcare sector while addressing our state’s workforce needs,” said Director Elizabeth Gagen, Department of Workforce Services. “By investing in the education and training of our community members, we’re paving the way towards a healthier future for all Wyoming residents.”
