Çalışma Standartları

If you need to file a claim that is considered “old” or relates to work performed outside of Wyoming’s jurisdiction, you should contact the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Wage & Hour Division.

While the Labor Standards Division handles claims for work physically done within the state, the federal government manages broader or out-of-state disputes.

Who to Contact

You can reach out to the Salt Lake City office, which often manages these regional inquiries, or use the national hotline:

  • Regional Office (Salt Lake City):
    • Phone: (801) 257-6560
    • Address: Eagle Gate Plaza & Tower, 60 East South Temple Street, Suite 575, Salt Lake City, UT 84111
  • National Toll-Free Helpline: * Phone: 1-866-487-9243 (1-866-4-USWAGE)

Checking for “Old” Owed Wages

If you believe a federal investigation has already recovered money for you in the past, you can search the Workers Owed Wages (WOW) database. This system allows you to:

  1. Search for your former employer.
  2. Enter your name to see if there are unclaimed back wages held in your name.
  3. Submit a “Back Wage Claim Form” to receive your payment.

Important Time Limits

For claims filed specifically with the State of Wyoming, you generally have two years from the date the wages were due to file a claim. Because federal and other state laws may have different (and sometimes shorter) deadlines, it’s best to contact the DOL as soon as possible to ensure you don’t lose your right to collect.
