ID.me is one of two identity verification services you can use for your Wyoming unemployment insurance claim.
You only need to verify your identity with ID.me OR Login.gov — not both.
Important: Start in WYUI
Do not go directly to ID.me to begin identity verification for your unemployment claim.
Start from WYUI.wyo.gov and select the option to verify with ID.me. This connects your completed verification to your Wyoming unemployment claim.
Already Have an ID.me Account?
You do not need to create a new one.
- Start from WYUI and select Verify with ID.me.
- Sign in using the email address and password for your existing ID.me account.
- Follow the instructions provided by ID.me. You may be asked to complete additional steps to verify your identity for Wyoming Unemployment Insurance.
- When asked, allow ID.me to share your verified information with Wyoming Unemployment Insurance.
- Complete the process. ID.me will return you to WYUI when you are finished.
New to ID.me?
If you don’t already have an ID.me account, you can create one as part of the identity verification process.
Before You Begin
Have the following available:
- An email address you can access
- A current government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID, passport card or passport. View the list of primary and secondary documents.
- A mobile phone with a camera if you will be taking photos of your identification
Step 1: Create Your ID.me Account
- Select Create an ID.me Account.
- Enter your email address and create and confirm a password.
- Check your email and select the confirmation link to verify your email address.
Step 2: Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication
Multi-factor authentication, or MFA, adds another layer of security to your ID.me account.
ID.me will show you the available options and guide you through setting up the method you choose.
You may also be given a recovery code. Keep it somewhere safe in case you lose access to your authentication method.
Step 3: Verify Your Identity
ID.me will guide you through the available options for verifying your identity.
Depending on the verification method you use, you may be asked to provide personal information, answer questions or submit photos of a current government-issued ID.
You may also be asked to provide your Social Security number as part of the verification process.
Follow the instructions on the screen until ID.me confirms that your identity has been verified.
Step 4: Allow ID.me to Share Your Verification
This step is IMPORTANT!
After your identity is verified, ID.me will ask for permission to share your verified information with Wyoming Unemployment Insurance.
Select Allow.
If you do not allow ID.me to share your information, DWS will not receive your completed identity verification.
After you complete this step, ID.me will return you to WYUI.
How Do I Know I’m Finished?
When ID.me successfully sends your identity verification to DWS, you will be returned to WYUI.
Your identity verification will be recorded on your claim.
Step 5: What If I Was Unsuccessful In Verifying my ID?
If you tried verifying your identity using Self-Service or on a short video call and weren’t successful, you may have the option to finish verifying on an extended video call with a Video Chat Agent.
An extended video call is required if you couldn’t complete Self-Service, a short video call, or if you don’t have a smartphone. View the steps for Verifying with a Trusted Referee.
