Workers’ Compensation Safety & Risk (WCSR) – is a division of Wyoming’s Department of Workers’ Compensation Safety and Risk specialists are located throughout the State with offices in Laramie, Gillette, Casper, Rock Springs, and Cheyenne. We provide Free onsite safety and health related assistance in both the private and public sectors including General Industry, Construction, Health Care, Oil & Gas, etc.
WCSR Comprehensive & Limited Inspection
Comprehensive visits:
- Evaluation of physical and environmental hazards as per OSHA standards
- Safety and health program and policy examination, review, and development
Limited visits:
- Focused on specific safety and health concerns
Discount Programs
Drug & Alcohol Discount – 10% (Annual application)
Program Requirements:
- 100% pre- employment testing
- 20% average total number of employees in random testing pool each year
- Post-accident and reasonable suspicion testing
- One-hour substance abuse training for all employees, and two hours for all supervisors
Safety Discount
Three tiers of discount levels: 3.33% – 6.66% – 10% (Annual application)
Program requires having a comprehensive safety and health program, safety meeting documentation, and a loss ratio of equal to or less than 10%
Deductible Program
Employer is committed to the Deductible Program for 1 calendar year from the date of approval. After the 1 year the employer can opt-out or continue and need to be enrolled in the Safety Discount Program to be eligible
Discount Levels (Deductible Plan)
- 4% ($1,000) – 10% ($5,000)
- 15% ($10,000) – 25% ($25,000) – 37.5% ($50,000)
- 45% ($75,000) – 50% ($100,000)
Health & Safety Consultation Discount
Four tiers of discount Levels: 3% – 5% – 7% – 10% (Discount valid for three years)
Program requirements are based upon completion of a comprehensive health and safety visit
Safety Improvement Fund
This is a workplace safety contract and provides opportunities for employers to enhance or implement new safety practices. This includes purchasing health or safety equipment/training for the provision of workplace safety. Funding up to $10,000 per fiscal year (July1 – June 30).
