About the Grants

Wyoming’s Business Training Grants help businesses:

  • Fix employee skill gaps or upgrade current skills.
  • Boost productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Reduce turnover and enhance employee performance or wages.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Training will either correct an employee’s skill deficiency or upgrade an employee’s current skill level.
  • Training must directly relate to the employee’s job or craft.
  • Funds cannot replace existing training budgets or other funding sources.
  • Training must support the business’s competitiveness in its industry or economy.

The result of the training will:

  • Increased productivity, efficiency or profitability of the business.
  • Reduced employee turnover.
  • Enhance employee wages or job performance.

Funding Details (Effective May 1, 2023):

  • $2,000 per trainee per fiscal year for non-preferred industries.
  • $3,000 per trainee per fiscal year for preferred industries.
  • $75,000 per business per fiscal year.

How to Apply

Step 1: Ensure Good Standing

Step 2: Create an Account

Register your business in our Grant Management System here.

  • Account verification can take up to 1 – 2 weeks, depending on good standing verifications with UI, WC, SOS, and HireWyo.
  • Once approved, you’ll receive an email to create a password and start building your applications.

Step 3: Build & Submit Your Application

  • Applications can be saved anytime but may only be submitted during the first 7 calendar days of each month.
  • Each application must:
    • Cover one training event.
    • Per the grant rules, applications for funding must be submitted 30 days to 110 days prior to the start date of training or first date of travel.
  • Submit as many applications as needed, within funding limits.

Step 4: Review Process

  • Applications are prioritized for preferred industries and training leading to certifications or licenses.
  • Approval requires a contract signed by all parties before training begins.
  • Approval is not guaranteed.

Important Notes

  • Applications for events starting within the following month are prioritized.
  • Grants will not reimburse costs without a fully executed contract.
