Helping Wyoming businesses create safer workplaces

The Wyoming Safety Improvement Fund helps businesses strengthen workplace safety through training o equipment upgrades. Funding can be used to improve safety beyond what is already required for your industry, supporting proactive, prevention-focused solutions.

How this program can help your business

Who can apply?

Wyoming businesses are eligible if they are:

  • Registered and in good standing with Wyoming Workers’ Compensation
  • Registered and in good standing with Seguro de desempleo, if required
  • Registered and in good standing with the Secretario de Estado de Wyoming, if required

How much funding is available?

  • Up to $10,000 per business each year
  • Funding period runs July 1 through June 30
  • A 10% cash match from the business is required

How to apply

Applying is simple:

  1. Complete the appropriate application form (training or equipment)
  2. Submit the form by email or mail

Applications are reviewed based on the business’s health and safety needs and are funded first-come, first-served.

Application deadlines

  • 7 de enero
  • 5 de abril
  • 5 de julio
  • October 4

What happens after approval?

  • DWS prepares a contract and issues payment in one installment
  • Payment is released after:
    • The contract is fully executed, and
    • The business is registered with the State Auditor’s Office
  • Invoices and proof of purchase must be submitted within 90 days of contract execution

Reporting requirements

Participating businesses must submit reports at:

  • 180 days, and
  • 365 days after the contract start date

Reports include:

  • A brief description of how the funding improved workplace safety
  • Employment data
  • Injury or fatality data
  • Receipts for approved expenses
