New to Wyoming or Hiring in Wyoming? DWS Can Help.
If a business performs work in Wyoming—or hires a Wyoming resident—it must register with the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services (DWS). Registration allows DWS to determine required coverage for Indemnización por accidente laboral y Seguro de desempleo, so work can begin with confidence and compliance.
Wyoming law requires employers subject to the Workers’ Compensation Act to apply for coverage and receive a statement of coverage before starting work in the state (Wyo. Stat. §§ 27-14-101 and 27-14-207). Even if a business may be non-liable or optional under Wyoming’s Workers’ Compensation fund, registration is still required so DWS can make that determination.
Get Started: Register Your Business
All employers—Wyoming-based and out-of-state—must complete the joint business registration first.
This includes owners, sole proprietors, and contractors who need an exemption letter from the Division.
- Visite WYUI.wyo.gov.
- Under Servicios para empresarios (lower left), select Registro de nuevas empresas en el DSM.
- Follow the step-by-step prompts to complete the registration.
At the end, you’ll see a Resumen de la inscripción.
✔ Save this page as a PDF for your records.
✔ It’s also recommended to save a copy of the questionnaire before submitting it by email, fax, or mail.
Helpful Tips While You Register
- If you don’t have an exact answer, it’s okay to enter “pending” o “to be determined.”
- If you don’t yet have a physical address, enter the job site name, city, county, or location where work will occur.
- Out-of-state employers must also complete the cuestionario para fuera del estado.
