Grant Opportunities Designed for Your Needs

  1. Apprenticeship Training Grants
    The purpose of the Apprenticeship Training Grant funding is to develop an industry-specific, Wyoming workforce for business, businesses, or industries and to assist Wyoming Registered Apprenticeship Programs with the costs and expenses of implementing the program and training the apprentices.
  2. Business Training Grants
    Invest in your current employees with training to correct an employee’s skill deficiency or upgrade their skill level in their current occupations.
  3. Internship Grants
    Offer structured learning experiences to individuals to gain experience and knowledge in a new industry or occupation.
  4. Pre-Hire Economic Development Grant
    Pre-hire Grants are available to develop an industry-specific workforce for a business, businesses, or industry when there is a shortage of skilled workers in that field.
  5. Pre-Obligation Grant
    Pre-Obligation of Training Funds provides a means for Wyoming Economic Development Entities to request obligation of funding to attract business and industry to Wyoming.

Competitive Application Process

Due to high demand, WDTF grants are highly competitive. As of January 1, 2026, applications for all WDTF Grants can now be submitted at any time throughout the calendar month, providing businesses with greater flexibility to apply for funding. 

If your application is not approved, don’t be discouraged! WDTF will provide feedback as to We encourage you to reapply if the requested training or opportunity is still eligible


Before You Apply

All businesses must complete a one time registration application in order to gain access into the Grant Management System. Registration approval can take up to 1-2 weeks to process. If any good standing verifications come back needing clarification, an email will be sent to the contact information provided on the registration. All requested clarifications or good standings must be updated or corrected within 60 calendar days in order for the registration application to remain active. If requested items are not completed within that timeline, the registration will be rejected and a new registration application will need to be submitted. Please ensure your business meets the following requirements to avoid delays in the registration process. 

  • Good Standing: Your business must be registered and in good standing with:
    • Wyoming Unemployment Insurance (UI)
    • Workers’ Compensation (WC)
    • Wyoming Secretary of State (SoS)
    • Workforce Development Training Fund (WDTF)

HireWyo: Your business must also be registered and in good standing with HireWYO. This process may take an additional 1-2 weeks, especially if your WC or UI accounts need to be updated.


Key Application Tips

  • Applications must be complete and include all supporting documentation.
  • Good standings with SOS, UI, WC, and HireWyo are verified at each application submission. It is the responsibility of the business to ensure good standing prior to submitting applications for funding.
  • Preferred Industries may receive special consideration:

    • Finance and Insurance
    • Healthcare and Social Assistance
    • Manufacturing
    • Technology
    • Hospitality and Tourism
